VILLAGERS in Limekilns have been shocked by the discovery that a local man has been charged for growing cannabis in his home. 

Neighbours believe they could smell the substance coming from the property on Upper Wellheads where police recovered 10 plants on the morning of Good Friday. 

Residents also said they had seen a number of police vehicles in the West Fife village in the lead-up to the raid by police. 

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police in Dunfermline have arrested and charged a 42-year-old man after a cannabis cultivation was discovered at an address Upper Wellheads, Limekilns on Friday, 14th April.

"The search was carried out at 11am and 10 cannabis plants were recovered.

"A report was submitted to the procurator fiscal."
