WEST Fifers are being advised to leave their bins out if they have not yet been emptied.
Earlier this week, Fife Council apologised for delays in waste collection which was caused by an "extraordinary number" of vehicle breakdowns.
A statement on the council's website said bins are being emptied the day after collection in some areas and householders are advised that if their bin has not been emptied, leave it out and it will be dealt with as soon as possible.
It added: "We are sorry for the inconvenience and will have the normal routine restored as quickly as we can."
