COMMUTERS in Inverkeithing are to benefit from a new digital information screen.

A total of 94 new screens are being installed at train stations around the country which will provide passengers with real-time data for connecting trains and buses.

Better, more detailed information during disruption to train services will also be available thanks to the new equipment's ability to display images and video on the HD displays.

The new displays are part of ongoing investment to improve Scotland’s stations. Last month 100 new electric car charging spaces and over 40 new station shelters were announced by the ScotRail Alliance.

Ian McConnell, the ScotRail Alliance’s programmes and transformation director, said they were working working hard to improve and renew stations across our network.

"Customer information is hugely important, and the more detail the better," he said.

"Our aim has always been to make to support environmentally-friendly travel across Scotland, well beyond the end of the railway tracks.”
