POLICE are appealing for information after a girl was approached in Dunfermline last Wednesday.

The girl was walking along Dover Drive when she was spoken to by a man in the afternoon.

The Press understands that there was a strong police presence around Masterton Primary School and were speaking to residents in the area following the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We're appealing for information from the public as part of an ongoing investigation into a report of a suspicious incident in Dunfermline.

"A girl was walking along Dover Drive when she was approached and spoken to by a man around 3.15pm last Wednesday (May 17).

"Anyone who may have witnessed this, or who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area around this time, is asked to get in touch.

"Those with information can contact Dunfermline CID on 101, quoting incident number 4023 of 17 May.

"Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
