SATURDAY is gala day in Rosyth as organisers aim to make it an annual feature on the calendar.
Until last year's successful event marking the garden city's centenary, it had been 30 years since the family fun day was held but it is back for another year this weekend.
The day will begin with a parade from Park Road at 11am with children marching through the town before arriving at the park for the crowing of the royal gala party.
Attractions will include pipe bands, games, It's a Knockout and tug o' war competitions, a fairground, inflatables, quad biking and pony rides.
The community market will run from 12-5pm and there will be live music, entertainers, community group displays and face-painting.
Last year's centenary gala attracted up to 6,000 people and Stephen Lynas, chief executive of the gala committee, said: "There was a real community spirit and a buzz in the lead-up and it surpassed our expectations with how well it went.
"That's given us the confidence to do it again and we've now got a stronger gala committee and more volunteers, although you can always do with more!"
