The girlfriend of missing Dunfermline airman Corrie McKeague has given birth to a baby girl.

April Oliver announced the arrival on her Facebook page on Father's day with a picture of herself cradling her new born.

Mum of Corrie, Nicola Urquhart, also her shared her delight on becoming a grandmother on the Find Corrie Facebook page.

She posted: "We have finally welcomed this beautiful little lady into the world. She is absolutely perfect.

"I am so very proud of April for getting her here safely. Both mummy and baby are doing well. Thank you so much for all your love and support x x x."

Mr McKeague, 23, disappeared on a night out in Bury St Edmunds on September 24 last year.

Miss Oliver announced she was pregnant in January, four months after Corrie disappeared.

The couple met online and had been dating for five months before he went missing from his base at RAF Honington, in Suffolk.

Miss Oliver discovered she was pregnant two weeks after Corrie was last seen.

Suffolk Police are currently searching a landfill site in Milton, Cambridgeshire for Mr McKeague, after it was revealed that a bin lorry in the area where he disappeared was heavy enough to hold his weight.

Specialist officers from Suffolk and Norfolk police have been searching through more than 4,430 tonnes of waste.

Their original search has been extended, however, they have not found anything connected to Corrie.

The investigation so far has cost more than £1m.
