FANCY another infectious toe-tapping burst of energy from one of Dunfermline's finest bands?

Dancing on Tables have you covered with the release of their latest single, Tracey.

The track was released last Friday and follows their second EP, Don't Stop, which was launched to a packed crowd at Electric Circus in December.

Fresh from a scenic musical retreat in the Scottish countryside, the latest turn boasts a laidback feel complimented by smooth vocals.

The isolation and landscaped vistas proved fruitful, as a batch of fresh material emerged.

Frontman Robbie McSkimming, told Press:ON that the Dunfermline Press Live Music Award winners of 2016 found that the trip sparked a new way of approaching their music.

He said: "We were locked away in this wee cottage for the weekend. We had a few beers and just played for hours and hours. We were jamming in the early hours of the morning with the most beautiful views surrounding us.

"I think we ended up coming away with eight or nine new songs. Tracey was one of them, and we have another one coming out later in the year.

"Unlike what we had ever done before, we all wrote lyrics for this one. Usually, it's either myself or Callum would go away and write a song.

"It was interesting to see what we all came up with as individuals rather than as a group. In the end, we used pieces from everyone even if it was just little phrases that clicked. We created this one collective story."

Tracey is a girl of free spirit and without much care in the world. The song is about that one relationship you have with someone that no matter how much time you spend apart, you always end up back together in some shape or form.

While the track was recorded in Blueprint Studios in Manchester, the artwork was fashioned by Laura Menzies, from Paisley, after her work caught Robbie's eye online.

He said: "I had seen her posting her work on Instagram and I thought it was so cool.

"I was writing this long message to her about our music, and the sound and feel of it all. I spoke to our manager (Neall Johnston) about her and he then goes and tells me that he knows her, and she's been listening to our stuff for ages! It's a small world!"
