AN INVERKEITHING woman poured hot water over her former partner after she had been wrongly accused of taking his things.
Morag Dowie, 40, of Spittalfield Crescent, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court after admitting assault on June 17.
Defence solicitor Lynsey McCran said her client and the man had been separated for over two years but still lived under the same roof.
"Clearly it is a stressful position for both of them," she said. "She has an alcohol problem which contributed to the situation.
"On the day in question, the ex partner came into the house and he accused her of moving items of his which she hadn't done.
"He thought she had stolen them however they were found in the house."
As a result of the incident, the man had redness on his body but didn't require medical attention.
Sheriff Craig McSherry placed Dowie on a structured deferred sentence programme. She will return to court in three months.
