BUS fares for students will be rising next week.

Stagecoach's unirider tickets offer unlimited travel between set boundaries at a discounted rate for students going to college or university.

For those travelling within Fife, Kinross and Clackmannanshire, a four-week pass will now cost you £72 instead of £68 and 13-week pass will cost you £199 instead of the previous £195.

Students travelling into Edinburgh can buy a four-week pass for £83 and a 13-week pass for £233.

The changes will begin on Monday, August 28.

Tickets are split into 10 separate zones, with options for 4 weeks or 13-week tickets. Certain areas also offer 1 day and 7-day ticket options.

Students can use their unirider ticket to get to college or university day to day, as well as going out and about at the weekends and evenings, with the unlimited travel ticket.

Douglas Robertson, Commercial Director, Stagecoach East Scotland, said “We understand that as a student, income can be tight and travel is essential. Our unirider tickets offer students huge savings on bus travel within the Stagecoach East Scotland network, making student travel much easier and affordable."

Students wishing to purchase 4 weeks and 13-week unirider tickets can buy online at www.stagecoachbus.com/unirider or from their local Stagecoach travel shop.

A valid student ID card must be presented when purchasing and using unirider tickets.
