FIREFIGHTERS have been battling a blaze that broke out in a Kincardine nursing home this afternoon.
Fire crews were called out to the Forth Bay Nursing Home at 3.19pm and it has been reported that up to 50 fire personnel are in attendance.
The building has been evaculated and Police Scotland have confirmed that all residents and staff have been accounted for.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 3.19pm on Monday, August 21 to reports of a fire within a nursing home at George Street, Kincardine.
"A total of nine fire engines and two height appliances as well as a command support unit and fire investigation unit were immediately mobilised to the scene.
"Firefighters are presently working to bring the fire under control using powerful water jets.
“There are no confirmed casualties. The SFRS remains in attendance."
A statement from Police Scotland added: "We were called to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service in responding to a fire at Forth Bay Nursing Home in Kincardine around 3.25pm today (Monday).
"The building was evacuated and all residents and staff have been accounted for.
"Neighbouring premises in the surrounding streets are also being evacuated as a precaution and a cordon is in place to ensure the safety of the public as the fire service work to bring the situation under control.
"Pedestrians and motorists are asked to avoid the area and are thanked for their cooperation at this time."
As a result of ongoing operation to bring the fire under control, the road northbound from the Kincardine Bridge into the village is closed, while Stagecoach services will not serve the High Street.
