A ROW about the size of a pizza in a takeaway ended up in a court appearance for a Kincardine man who became racially abusive to a staff member.
Mark Davis, 31, of Mercer Street, Kincardine, was in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on July 2, at the Village Tandoori, Elphinstone Street, he acted in a racially aggravated manner towards Mohammed Khan, in the course of his employment, by uttering racially offensive language at him.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf told the court that at around 8pm, the shop owner received a phone call from Mr Davis about a food order.
“He was asking for a particular size of pizza and was told they didn’t do that size. Mr Davis told the man to f*** off and hung up the phone.
“Ten minutes later, he attended the shop with another person. He asked again and was told again they didn’t do that size of pizza.”
An argument then began between Davis and the shop owner and he called him a “black stinking b******” and a “Paki b******”.
When questioned by the police Davis blamed the shop owner saying he was being “smarmy” and denied using racist language at that time.
Sheriff Robert Weir said: “Given the outrageous nature of the language I’m going to be calling for reports.”
Davis will return to court for sentencing on October 4.
