SCOTTISH cyclist Mark Beaumont has set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest circumnavigation by bicycle across the world.

He completed the challenge in just under 79 days on the Artemis World Cycle.

In a new video for VisitScotland, filmed prior to the world attempt, Mark cycles through the Kingdom and takes in the stunning Forth Bridge and races a rally car around Knockhill Race Circuit.

He also talks about his 30 to 35 hour per week training routine where he can clock up to 500 miles.

Manuela Calchini, Regional Director for VisitScotland, said: "Mark is an incredible ambassador for Scotland. His record breaking achievement has helped highlight Scotland as a cycling destination and undoubtedly inspired visitors across the world.

"We are delighted that he agreed to create this video, which not only provides insight into Mark’s motivations and challenges but also showcases the stunning beauty of Fife and the many exciting experiences you can have here."
