IMPROVEMENTS to Dunfermline's War Memorial should be completed in time for Remembrance Sunday events.
Funding has now been approved which will see flowerbeds replaced with sandstone slabs.
A frame to hang wreaths will also be provided while some cast-iron poppy-themed benches will be placed in the Garden for Heroes.
The City of Dunfermline area committee agreed to allocate £20,000 for the renovation and had been asked to avoid any delay in allocating funds as that could have meant work would not be completed before ceremonies in November.
Convener Councillor Helen Law said the work was expected to be completed before November 11.
"I would be optimistic the work will be done in time," she said. "They are taking out the flowerbeds and putting in slabs and it will be given a bit of a tidy up."
