DUNFERMLINE woman Nikki Jermain needs a new passport after scooping Scottish Slimmers’ biggest loser title!
Bank manager Nikki, 30, scooped the special accolade at Scottish Slimmers’ Success Awards Day after losing a massive seven stones and 13-and-a-half pounds since starting the classes.
Having gone from a size 20 to a 12, she confused airport staff recently at passport control who demanded to know why she looked so different.
Nikki admits her weight loss journey has taken a while as she first went to Scottish Slimmers 10 years ago but getting to her target weight in August of this year has made it all worthwhile.
“I think I need a new passport picture now,” she joked. “I am so happy I have succeeded. It definitely helped that I turned 30 this year as I wanted to look my best for all the celebrations to follow!
“First time round, I lost weight for my sister’s wedding and loved how easy the eating plan was, however, that was my downfall as I didn’t think I needed the class anymore and that was the worst mistake I made.”
By the beginning of this year, Nikki had managed to lose four-and-a-half stone and re-joining the class in January helped her get to her target.
“Thanks to a change in my shifts at work I was able to join a class again and I can honestly say it is the best thing I have ever done and I won’t stop going now,” she said.
“To date, I have managed to lose another three stone. I look back and wonder why it took me so long to realise I needed that help and support, that I wouldn’t be judged by going back and that everyone is in the same boat as me.”
