A DRINK-DRIVER was more than FOUR times over the limit when he crashed into a wall, a court has heard.

In the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court was Scott Brady, 54, of Oaklea, Saline.

He admitted that on May 15, on the B913 road at Gowkhall he drove a car after consuming excess alcohol. His reading was 208 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, the legal limit being 50 milligrammes.

Depute fiscal Carrie Stevens said: “Just after 3am, police attended at the home of the accused as a result of an accident that happened earlier. They observed his vehicle outside his house.

“He was traced to the Victoria Hospital and police carried out procedures there. At 6.50am, a blood sample was taken by a doctor.”

Brady, who was representing himself in court, said he was “a bit confused” about the crown’s version of events.

He said: “It happened in Clune Road and I didn’t drive home. I was put in an ambulance there.

“The gentleman whose wall I knocked down phoned for the ambulance.”

Sheriff Craig McSherry asked: “How was your car back at your house when police went there?”

“I’ve no idea,” Brady replied.

Sheriff Craig McSherry fined Brady £1,000 and banned him from driving for 16 months.
