THE Dunfermline branch of a national family support charity has received a £2,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre.

Staff and volunteers at Home-Start in Dunfermline received the special delivery from the team at the fulfilment centre in Dunfermline as part of Amazon’s local community support programme.

Home-Start works with vulnerable families in Dunfermline, providing practical aid and emotional support through a series of initiatives including dedicated Family Workers and a one-to-one intensive programme of support.

To celebrate the donation, members of the Amazon charity committee from the site in Dunfermline attended a party for the families in the local community centre where a little bit of extra magic was added to the occasion by a performance from a magician.

Joyce Munro, manager at Home-Start Dunfermline, added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Paul and his team from Amazon for supporting us once again with this donation.

"It’s support like this that enables us to continue working hard for the vulnerable families in our community and helps us offer our services to those who need it most. Thank you to everyone at Amazon in Dunfermline for their support.”

During the visit, the Amazon team learned more about the work that Home-Start continues to carry out in the local community.

Paul Ashraf, Amazon Dunfermline general manager, said: “Home-Start is a wonderful organisation that does vital work in our community throughout the year.

"In 2016, we saw first-hand the impact of its work in Dunfermline and we’re happy to be back again this year to lend a helping hand.”
