A JEALOUS Rosyth man has been given extra jail time for causing a disturbance at his former partner’s home, demanding to know who was there.

Grant Pithie, 36, from Rosyth but currently in prison, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He previously admitted that on May 29, at Woodside Avenue, Rosyth, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, demanding entry to the house, shouting offensive remarks at his ex-partner and throwing a plastic bat at a window.

He also admitted failing to appear for a court hearing on September 21.

The court was told that at 10pm, Pithie started banging on the door of his former partner. He was shouting: “Who’s in the house? I’ve been sitting in the back garden for hours and I heard someone going up the stairs. You’re a slag.”

Police were contacted and when cautioned and charged, Pithie said: “I never said any rude words. I never kicked at the door, all I did was bang on the door. She knew fine well I was coming over.”

Sheriff Charles MacNair told Pithie: “You committed a further offence after being given the opportunity of a DTTO (Drug Treatment and Testing Order).

“It was no business of yours who may have been in the premises and this must have been alarming for your ex-partner. You have a bad record.”

The court heard that Pithie's earliest release date had been March 27. He was jailed for another 140 days to be served consecutive to his current sentence.
