THERE will be a public exhibition about plans to build more houses on land next to Lynebank Hospital in Dunfermline.

NHS Fife and BDW Trading Ltd – part of Barratt Homes – already have planning permission to develop another part of the site.

Together with a neighbouring plot at South Fod Farm, they were given the go-ahead last year by Fife Council to build 200 houses.

They have now submitted proposals to build more houses on another disused area in the hospital grounds, bordering on Halbeath Road, and will discuss the proposals on Wednesday, January 31.

Members of the public can have their say at the public consultation, which will run from 3 to 7pm at the nearby Holiday Inn Express.

NHS Fife and BDW Trading Ltd have submitted a proposal of application notice (PAN) to the council, which gives them 12 weeks to consult before they can submit a full planning application.

Planning permission for the previous plans, which will now see 200 homes built on adjoining sites at Lynebank and South Fod Farm, was granted in March last year and will see the applicants pay more than £1 million in education contributions and more than £180,000 for transport improvements.
