More snow is forecast to hit West Fife over the next couple of days and temperatures will remain low.

Snow showers are expected to turn heavier this evening and will be frequent throughout the night (Thursday).

Temperatures will sit at -2 °C but will feel a lot colder.

Going into Friday snow showers will remain frequent and heavy in West Fife especially on higher ground.

However, the weather is expected to change in time for the weekend with drier, sunnier spells forecast for Saturday.

But not for too long with rain expected to turn to snow on Sunday and a few showers on Monday too.

You will expect more snow the further west you are, as some areas such as Kincardine still have a yellow warning for snow hanging over them.

Transport distruption in expected in these parts with icy conditions affecting the roads and paths.

Police Scotland have advised drivers across Scotland to travel with extra caution with these latest weather warnings.

Motorists should not be complacent and should keep up to date with the police on social media to keep safe.

Head of Road Policing for Police Scotland, Chief Superintendent Stewart Carle said: "Road conditions have improved overnight with less snow falling than was expected. As a result of this, and motorists heeding our messages and driving to the conditions this morning, we are now able to advise everyone that despite there no longer being a high risk of disruption, there is still a need for all drivers to take extra caution.

"This means that you should continue to make sure you have sufficient fuel for your journey, and have supplies such as warm clothing, food, water and a fully charged mobile phone, before heading out.

"Be fully informed by checking the @PoliceScotland, @TrafficScotland and @MetOffice Twitter feeds before you travel to get the latest information and forecasts."
