A KINCARDINE woman has admitted fraudulently receiving £6,500 when she was a student and then in employment.
Yolande McEwan carried out the scam over a period of almost four years.
McEwan, 42, of Dewar Avenue, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
She admitted that between September 10, 2012, and July 10, 2016, she knowingly failed to give prompt notification to Fife Council about a change in circumstances affecting her entitlement to benefits.
She failed to declare she had started a full-time higher education course and had received a bursary. On completing the course, she also failed to declare she was in full-time employment, thus fraudulently obtaining a total of £6,500 in housing benefit.
Sheriff Derek Reekie called for reports and McEwan will be sentenced on May 9.
