A 47-year-old man has been arrested after police officers searched him and found £4,700 worth of heroin.

He was charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act following the recovery of the Class A drugs in Blacklaw Road in Dunfermline.

Officers carried out a personal search at around 5pm yesterday where they recovered the heroin.

The 47-year-old was arrested and will appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday June 13.

Sergeant Neil McGurk, from the Community Investigation Unit in Dunfermline, said: " This is another significant recovery as part of the ongoing Operation Prospect initiative, targeting substance misuse throughout the Kingdom.

"Whenever we have information or intelligence to suggest drugs offences are taking place we will respond accordingly.
