A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested and charged in connection with anti-social behaviour and disorder in Aberdour.

Officers were called to Silver Sands beach and the surrounding area at around 6.30 pm on Saturday evening.

Community Inspector Stephen Kay, of Dalgety Bay police station, said: “The recent spell of good weather has attracted crowds to the Aberdour area and has historically been a favourite place for people to congregate.

“Following reports of anti-social behaviour we have dedicated additional resources to the area and will be regularly targeting locations where we’ve had repeated reports of disorder.

Fire services were also called out to Silver Sands in Aberdour on Saturday evening.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 6.50pm on Saturday, May 19 to reports of a fire at Silver Sands, Aberdour.

“Operations Control mobilised one fire engine to the scene where firefighters extinguished the fire involving gorse bushes.

“Crews left the scene at 7.35pm after ensuring the area was made safe.”
