TWO people had to be rescued on Saturday after their car plunged into a burn in Dunfermline.
The Fiat ploughed through a hedge at Asda St Leonards at around 12.15pm and ended up stuck in the water.
The pair had to be removed from the vehicle by firefighters and were checked over by paramedics at the scene.
Fire engines from Dunfermline attended the incident along with a specialist water rescue unit from Edinburgh.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they were alerted at 12.15pm to reports of a car in water near St. Leonards Street.
“Operations control immediately mobilised a number of fire engines and specialist water rescue units to the scene, and firefighters assisted two people from the vehicle to a place of safety before handing them into the care of paramedics for precautionary checks," said the spokesperson.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
