A 27-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court and admitted trying to steal unscanned items from Tesco worth almost £500.
The scam involved Alexander Vandekamp scanning some items in his trolley but not scanning others at the store at Duloch Park.
Vandekamp, of Parkgate, Rosyth, was in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on June 16 last year at Tesco, Turnstone Road, Dunfermline, he self-scanned a trolley containing items to a value of £76.94 and attempted to steal unscanned items in the trolley to the value of £490.58.
He had been charged with two other similar offences against Tesco but his not guilty pleas were accepted to these.
Sheriff James MacDonald called for reports and Vandekamp will be sentenced on August 1.
