DRINKING "too much alcohol than was good for him" ended with Rosyth man Reece Taylor punching a hole in his girlfriend's kitchen door.

Behaviour escalated after an argument and the evening ended with clothes and possessions being thrown out of the window onto the street where he was standing.

Appearing for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court yesterday (Wednesday), Taylor, 27, of Kings Road, had previously admitted that on May 27, at a house in Almond Drive, Dunfermline, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm by shouting and repeatedly striking doors and windows.

He also, without reasonable excuse, wilfully or recklessly destroyed or damaged property belonging to another when he punched one door and repeatedly kicked another.

Depute fiscal Claire Kennedy said the couple were in an "on and off" relationship.

An argument had started which resulted in him punching a hole in the kitchen door. He then left the house, however, returned later when his partner was in bed.

"She heard banging on the front door and windows," said Ms Kennedy. "She spoke to him from the window and passed some of his belongings to him from there. He then walks to the rear of the house and began kicking the back door, damaging it."

Solicitor Stephen Morrison said the incident had been described as an "isolated incident" and the parties remained in a relationship.

"He accepts he had too much alcohol than was good for him," he told the court.

"When he returned the second time, that was when he looking for the return of some of his property and clothing. I understand that the complainer was shouting back, making derogatory comments and, at one stage, was throwing his property out of the upstairs window.

"He accepts what he did was wrong, how he reacted was wrong and that it would have caused fear and alarm to his partner."

Sheriff Craig McSherry placed Taylor on a structured deferred sentence requiring him to return to court on October 10.
