A HIGH VALLEYFIELD man threw a bottle at a car after an argument over money with his ex-partner.

Appearing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing yesterday (Wednesday), Stephen Justice, 20, of Dunimarle Street, had previously admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm at a house in Pentland Terrace on January 24.

He shouted, swore, refused to to leave when asked to do so, acted in an aggressive manner and struggled with her.

On the same date, he also wilfully or recklessly damaged property belonging to another when he threw a bottle of juice at a car, causing damage to it.

Justice also admitted that he broke bail conditions that he did not approach, contact or attempt to approach or contact his ex-partner.

Depute fiscal Claire Kennedy said Justice's former partner had been watching television and eating dinner with a friend when Justice arrived. He started shouting and swearing and was asked to leave, which he refused to do.

An argument developed over money and this resulted in a struggle between the two.

He left the house and threw the bottle at a car, causing a 10-centimetre dent.

Solicitor Rosni Joshi said her client had previously been in a relationship with his former partner for five years.

She said the bail conditions were breached "by mistake" when his former partner unblocked herself from his account. "As a result, he sent messages apologising. He ceased contact when it was evident that she didn't want contact with him."

Sheriff Craig McSherry placed Justice on a restriction of liberty order for five months. He deferred sentencing for the breaching bail offence for three months for Justice to be of good behaviour.
