A DUNFERMLINE man was back in trouble less than a fortnight after being given early release from jail.

Michael Collins was shouting and swearing in the street and threatened to damage a woman’s car.

Collins, 32, of Blackburn Avenue, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on July 15 at Canmore Terrace, Wellwood, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, screaming, making threats to damage to property and acted aggressively.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said: “He had been at his partner’s home and left to go to meet his friends.

“When he came back to the partner’s house on Sunday he was shouting and screaming to get in. Police were called and found a green t-shirt on the road.

“A female witness saw him flailing his arms around and shouting his head off.”

He told this woman: “I’ll sort your wee car.”

When police tracked him down Collins did not have his t-shirt on and had no shoes on either.

In February Collins was jailed for 40 weeks for a string of offences. He was released from custody on July 2.

Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said: “He had abstained from drinking until this occasion when he went to a friend’s home and was drinking vodka.

"He went back to his partner’s after midnight and was somewhat surprised when she wouldn’t let him in.

“He was becoming emotional.”

Sheriff Craig McSherry called for reports, granted bail and Collins will be sentenced on August 8.
