Young dancers from Crossgates are one step closer to achieving their dream of performing at Walt Disney World Florida thanks to a generous donation from a local housebuilder.

The team at Centre Stage Performing Arts dance school are hoping to travel over the pond next June to represent Scotland in the Dance the World Convention for the very first time.

However, jetting a group of 41 dancers, teachers and family members to Florida does not come cheap!

Thankfully Dundas Estates have come onboard to contribute £500 towards the cause.

Louise Ferrier, principal of Centre Stage Performing Arts, said: “We are completely thrilled to have received this support from Dundas Estates for our trip of a lifetime to Walt Disney World Florida and are very grateful.

“This opportunity is a dream come true and the donation has helped us greatly with the costs of flights and accommodation. Both are very expensive and usually have to be funded by each individual dancer, so this has made a huge difference to the team.

“It’s wonderful that a homebuilder like Dundas is willing to help out a local dance group and the whole team and their families are now incredibly excited for the dance convention next year!”

Heather Birrell, sales and marketing manager for Dundas Estates, said: “This is such a unique opportunity for this Dunfermline dance group to perform in Florida in front of thousands of people from all around the world.

“Investing in the local communities around our developments is always at the forefront of our values, so we are very proud to be able to support Centre Stage Performing Arts and help them achieve their goal by making this contribution to the team.”
