ANTON & The Colts are ready to take centre stage this year.

The Glasgow band have just dropped their official debut single – The Summer That Could Never Be Outdone – and are on schedule to release an album of banging' blues this autumn.

Frontman Anton told the Evening Times: "We are super excited about the release of the single, and album of course, which we hope to put out around the start of September.

"It's been too long since we last put any new music out; three years to be exact. Since we released our debut EP, 6:45 & 450 Down, we've released a few live videos on YouTube but that's just not the same."

The Summer That Could Never Be Outdone is inspired by Jack Kerouac's On the Road.

Anton added: "I'm a bit of a 'wanderlust' and the whole sense of adventure of that tale, and bouncing about like a wee rascal just grabbed me – and the song just started pouring out of me."

The ATC sound draws on numerous influences – the pristine vocal harmonies of country and bluegrass, raucous bluesy guitars, and the tight swinging rhythms of classic soul and funk mixed together with Anton’s sweet smokey growl accompanied by tales of love, regret, addiction, good times, bad times and everything in-between.

Since inception in June 2014, the band have played numerous venues and festivals throughout Scotland including Glasgow's ABC and King Tut's, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival in Inverness, Perth's Southern Fried Festival, and the enchanting Eden Festival in Dumfries and Galloway. The miles travelled and the countless hours of stage time has helped shape a sound that takes many twists and turns during a live set.

As well as upcoming gigs in Glasgow at Maggie Mays (August 12) and Stereo (October 13), Anton will also be hitting the road for a short solo tour in Switzerland and Rome at the end of August.

In respect to the band's live performance, Anton promises "acoustic loveliness and rock 'n' roll".
