DIVERSIONS on the M90 will be put in place this weekend as overnight inspection work of motorway bridges takes place.

The work, which will affect drivers travelling northbound, will be carried out between 8pm on Saturday and 6am on Sunday and will see the carriageway closed at junction two for Pitreavie.

Traffic will instead be diverted along the A823(M) to Pitreavie roundabout, and then back onto the motorway at the northbound on-slip at junction two.

Both southbound lanes of the M90 will remain open but drivers should be advised that the southbound off-slip at junction two will be shut, with traffic diverted via junction 1c for Inverkeithing.

They will then be re-routed around the Admiralty roundabout the join the M90 northbound before travelling onto the A823(M) at Pitreavie.

The works, which are being carried out by operating company Amey, have been planned to take place overnight to minimise disruption, but motorists planning to use those routes have been advised to allow a few extra minutes for their journey.
