THE B913 road west of Saline will be closed for a week while resurfacing work costing £54,000 is carried out.

Fife Council said the job to improve the carriageway will start on Monday and apologised in advance for any inconvenience.

The works will be carried out using a road closure from 7am to 7pm each day and a diversion route will be in place.

Councillor Altany Craik, transportation spokesperson, said: “We maintain over 2,400 km of roads in Fife and we are spending nearly £8 million this year repairing and improving them. Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work.

"Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads on a daily basis, which is why this type of maintenance work is so essential.”

There will be access for emergency services but access for residents and businesses will be at the discretion of the contractor.

Cllr Craik concluded: “We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works and we will try to keep any disturbance to a minimum.

"Your patience and co-operation during this time is greatly appreciated.”
