A CASTLEMILK man got rid of an unwanted house guest by smashing a bottle off his victim’s head.

Jordan Paterson, 25, had been drinking with the complainer earlier on in the evening before the party atmosphere turned sour.

The accused messaged his mum, who was upstairs at the time, stating that he wanted his friend to leave. In response to the men’s raised voices downstairs, the concerned mother requested the assistance of her cousin to help eject the complainer from the house.

The complainer turned nasty when asked to leave. In response, Paterson hit him on the head with a glass bottle.

When the police arrived, the victim complained that he had a sore head and was feeling dizzy. At a city hospital, he was found to have a mild concussion and two small scratches to the back of his head.

The accused disappeared from the scene of the crime, but was traced and arrested the following day.

The incident happened on October 18, 2016 at an address in Stravanan Road.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court this week, defence agent Emma Crilly claimed that it was a one-off incident.

Miss Crilly stated that the case had caused her client considerable anxiety and stress to which he has felt the repercussions of his actions.

Sheriff Shona Gilroy placed Paterson, of Stravanan Road, on a Structured Deferred Sentence for three months.
