A NOISY young woman who annoyed neighbours with her loud music has avoided further punishment after a sheriff took pity.

Sheriff Allan Findlay told Emma Gorman: "Right, Miss Gorman, you had a night in the jail and you've got a criminal record – that's enough."

Police had been called to the 24-year-old accused's address on numerous occasions over noise complaints. She was warned about her actions, but continued to play her music loudly as well as singing, shouting and swearing.

She was eventually arrested after branding the police "f*****g a*******s".

The incident happened on January 14, 2018.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court this week, Gorman pleaded guilty to operating a television that would give another person reasonable cause for annoyance. She also admitted failing to desist when asked by police constables, shouting, swearing and acting in an aggressive manner.

Defending, Paul Anderson stated: "It was a house party, it was noisy. Police have attended and Miss Gorman reacted in the manner described."

Gorman, of Strowan Street, was thereafter admonished.
