TEAMS from across Fife competed in a knockout day of fun to raise £4,000 for the Hyperclub in Inverkeithing.

'It's a Knockout' was back again at the town's Ballast Bank for the third year running bringing together fundraisers who are game for a laugh all in the name of charity.

Funds from this year's efforts will go towards buying a bus for the Hyperclub, who support adults and children with learning difficulties by offering educational activities including karaoke, games and arts and crafts.

Carousel Fitness in Inverkeithing managed to bump last year's winners, Richie’s Reckers from Sky, off the leaderboard – the group of ladies were over the moon!

Teams were also competing for the Champion Fundraiser Shield with staff from Sky raising the most out of the eight teams involved for the second year in row.

Founder of Hyperclub, Suzie Connelly, who won the Press Heart of Gold award at our Community Champions in 2016, said: "It was a great day! We only had eight teams this year but the atmosphere was still fantastic.

"I have to say a big thank you to Michelle Bell who works for Sky. She is one of our parents who support the club and managed to raise over £2,000 on her own.

"She just goes above and beyond for us all the time, baking cakes or doing the tombola.

"We also had some people signing up to take part in the day and many people in the community coming to cheer on the teams.

"Everyone seemed to have a fantastic time and even the rain stayed off right until we had packed up!"

Hyperclub are hopeful that they will be able to move into a new home by the new year and will be celebrating with a free open day for the community.
