DUNFERMLINE Central Mosque has been recognised for its work in the community at a UK awards ceremony.
It won the 'Best Outreach Programme' award at the first ever British Beacon Mosque Awards in London.
The only Scottish mosque at the ceremony, it has organised visits, school assemblies and communal coffee mornings to engage with the West Fife community.
Imam Muhammad Habibur Rahman Khan said: "The award is no doubt a significant achievement for the Dunfermline community as we were competing against many of larger cities in the UK.
"Representatives of Dunfermline Central Mosque are very proud of our town and the close connections and partnerships with various groups and organisations in Dunfermline.
"We offer our gratitude to everyone involved that has enabled us to achieve this."
