FANCY bidding for a share of £875,000?

That's the balance of the money available to help communities in South and West Fife - which includes Rosyth, Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay, Aberdour and the West Fife villages - bounce back from the pandemic and cope with the cost of living crisis.

Fife Council created a £10 million community recovery fund last year with each of the seven area committees given an allocation.

In South and West Fife that was £1.23m and councillors approved project funding requests totalling £355,000 in January – including £30,000 to Dalgety Bay Community Trust to develop plans for a new community hub in the town – leaving £875,000 still to distribute.

Now there are two workshops for groups, organisations and services who may need a hand getting in their application for money.

They are on Thursday August 31 in Inverkeithing Civic Centre, from 6.30pm, and Saturday September 2 in Torryburn Community Centre from 9.30am.

The workshops last for approximately two hours with officers on hand to go through project proposal forms, give useful hints for applicants and answer any questions.

Both sessions will be the same, so if you'd like to attend just sign up for one of them by emailing Tessa.ramsay@fife.gov.uk.

The closing date for applications is Friday September 8.
