A packed year of entertainment gets underway at the Carnegie Hall tomorrow night (Friday, January 5) when the Royal Scottish National Orchestra open 2024 at the Dunfermline venue.
The Viennese Gala, featuring the music of Vienna’s most famous son Johann Strauss and his friends, will be full of elegant waltzes, playful polkas and good old-fashioned romance.
And it's just the first event in a busy year music, theatre, company and much more.
The Royal Marines Band Scotland are back at the Carnegie Hall on Sunday, January 21, with their concert 'Scotland the Brave', and return again on Sunday, February 18, with their 'Big Band Concert', and on Thursday, March 28, with 'By Request'.
In February, the Dunfermline Gilbert & Sullivan Society will be putting on a run of their comical operetta 'Iolanthe' from Thursday 22 to Saturday 24, and comedian Kieran Hodgson will be performing his show 'Big in Scotland' on Thursday, February 29.
Johnny Lee Memphis will bring the music of The King to the Carnegie Hall with his tribute show 'Absolute Elvis' on Friday, March 15.
And then it's Rosyth & District Musical Society's turn to take to the stage as they perform their adaptation of 'The Addams Family'. You can catch the musical show about this creepy, kooky, mysterious, spooky and ghoulish family from Wednesday, March 20, to Saturday, March 23.
In April, Why Not? Theatre Company will be performing the classic favourite 'Oliver!'. Consider yourself invited to pick a pocket or two with Fagin and his gang from Thursday, April 4, to Saturday, April 6.
One for cycling fans will be 'An Audience with Sir Bradley Wiggins'. The Olympic and Tour de France legend takes to the stage Thursday, April 18.
There's a musical tribute to Adele on Saturday, April 20, when Katie Markham leads the performers in 'Someone Like You - The Adele Songbook'.
The Playhouse Theatre Company presents 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', a delicious treat for all the family, on stage from Tuesday, May 14, to Saturday, May 18.
Then there's another tribute, this time to the super group Abba, on Friday, June 28, when tribute act ABBAmania bring the 25th anniversary tour to Dunfermline; and that's followed by the New Jersey Boys who will be bringing the songs of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons to the Carnegie Tall on Friday, August 30.
October is set to be a busy month, starting with 'The Rocket Man - A Tribute to Sir Elton John' on Saturday, October 5, featuring two hours of glorious hits including Saturday Night’s Alright, Crocodile Rock, I’m Still Standing, Philadelphia Freedom and much more.
'Girls’ Night Oot!' will be a hen night to remember with a smash hit retro soundtrack on Saturday, October 12. Full of songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, it's set to be banterous and bootyliciously good fun!
Then it's time to Take It Easy with Desperados, who will be performing their 'Tribute to The Eagles' on Saturday, October 26. Expect to hear all the legendary band's hits including Take it to the Limit, Desperado, Lyin' Eyes and, of course, the classic Hotel California.
