Dunfermline and Fife’s investment potential is being promoted in London this week as part of the Scottish Cities Alliance event.

Fife Council’s leader Councillor David Ross is showcasing the benefits of investing in the City of Dunfermline to a range of possible national and international investors.

The Scottish Cities Alliance is a collaboration of Scotland’s eight cities – Aberdeen, Dundee, Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Perth, and Stirling – and the Scottish Government. They all work together to promote Scotland’s economic potential.

The programme includes sessions led by Alliance partners and stakeholders, which focus on topics that are critical to unlocking change across the economies of Scotland’s eight cities.

Innovation opportunities for Dunfermline that being debated include the Arrol Gibb Innovation Campus (AGIC). This is centred around Babcock International's Rosyth site, which is at the heart of the Green Freeport designation for the Firth of Forth.

Cllr Ross said: “This is a major event which gives us an excellent, national and international platform to showcase our investment opportunities. This will help us to attract greater investment, create growth and compete internationally.

"The council is promoting and maximising the economic opportunities around Dunfermline’s unique approach to using heritage and culture as well as investment in infrastructure and transport to attract new employment and business opportunities.

"Our aim is to promote Fife as a region and build on the benefits of City status for the whole of the region.”
