West Fife star Kerry Wilson is "super happy" to have made it through to the semi-finals of the BBC's Gladiators.

Kerry, 34, from Oakley, who qualified from her heat in the fastest time of any competitor, took on Betti Worth, 31, of Westhoughton, Bolton, in the last of the quarter-finals of the hit gameshow, which was shown on BBC1 last night (Saturday).

And she once again stood up to the Gladiators in a series of gruelling challenges before storming through 'The Eliminator' to claim her place in the last four.

Speaking to host Bradley Walsh at the end of the show, an ecstatic Kerry expressed her delight at winning, and also paid tribute to her opponent.

She said: "I'm super happy. I knew that I had to push right from the start because Betti is super rapid."

Kerry, who runs a dog-walking business and is also a downhill mountain biking champion, came out on top in most of the challenges against the Gladiators.

In 'Dual', where the Gladiator and contestant try to knock each other off a podium using a pugil stick, Kerry went the distance with Dynamite, staying up for the full 30 seconds; and she conquered 'The Wall', a race to the top of a climbing wall, with her pursuer, Gladiator Electro, getting nowhere near her.

She then face a re-match in 'Hang Tough', once again taking on Gladiator Sabre who had pulled her down from the rings in her heat, and this time managed to stay up for the full minute without being caught.

That put Kerry in a commanding position with a six-second start going into the final event, 'The Eliminator', a race between the two contestants, and she never looked like losing as she tackled the obstacle course with ease, including the much-dreaded travellator at the end.

Viewers will now get the chance to see if Kerry can make it all the way to the final, with the semi-finals being shown on BBC1 on Saturday nights, starting next Saturday.
