THE throwback sounds of Paul McCartney and Sting will be heard as Fire Station Creative later this month.

Gus Boyd, an award winner at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016, will be performing at the city centre venue bringing "iconic classics" with an exciting percussive twist.

The two shows in one concert will feature hits from he two artists widely regarded as the finest songwriters of all time.

In ‘Acoustic McCartney’, Boyd brings you solo interpretations that tour the highlights of Paul McCartney’s career as part of The Beatles, Wings, and from his independent album Solo.

Expect to hear great hits such as ‘Yesterday’, ‘Here, There and Everywhere’, ‘Fool on the Hill’, ‘The Long and Winding Road’, ‘Drive My Car’, ‘Let It Be’, ‘Hey Jude’, ‘I Saw Her Standing There’ and many more.

‘Acoustic Sting’ will feature well-made interpretations of songs from The Police, as well as the artist's legendary solo albums, including ‘Roxanne’, ‘Fields of Gold’, ‘Message in a Bottle’, ‘Every Breath You Take’, ‘Walking on the Moon’ and ‘Englishman in New York’.

Singing in a similar vocal timbre and range, Gus promises to bring Sting's music to life in passionate and powerful performance.

“It’s always a pleasure to return to this great venue and play songs in the intimate atmosphere to an audience that appreciates the warm vibe within," he added.

The gig takes place at 6.30pm on Sunday, March 17. Tickets are £15 and can be purchased from the Eventbrite website or at the Fire Station Creative Cafe/Bar.
