Dunfermline’s Live Music on Sundays concert series finishes next Sunday (March 17) with a performance from the Fyrish String Quartet.

These four talented young Scots are well-versed in the core string quartet repertoire, but also enjoy exploring lesser-known works and championing new music – often combining classical and folk styles.

Joe Hodson, Emma Donald (violins), Sarah Leonard (viola) and Tim Cais (cello) have been playing together since 2017, presenting varied programmes across Scotland.

Individually, they play with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Ballet, the Kaleidoscope Orchestra, Glasgow Chamber Choir and many other ensembles.

They will be playing well-known works by Joseph Haydn and Denmark’s Carl Nielsen alongside pioneering female composer Rebecca Clarke. There’s even a piece by top Scottish violinist and recent Music on Sundays performer Seonaid Aitken.

The concert takes place at 7.30pm on Sunday, March 17, at Viewfield Baptist Church in East Port, Dunfermline. Tickets (£15/£2) and further information are available at dunfermlinemusic.org or you can pay at the door.
