A DUNFERMLINE-based Stagecoach East Scotland employee is on the road to success after being nominated for a national award.

Colin Hunter has been shortlisted in the Frontline Employee of the Year Category at the Scottish Transport Awards which will take place in Glasgow in June.

The firm is also in line for honours in the Excellence in Tech and Innovation category for its CAVForth autonomous bus initiative which was launched last May.

The Stagecoach service, from Ferrytoll Park and Ride to Edinburgh Park Transport Interchange, is operating on a trial basis until 2025 as part of the CAVForth project.

A fleet of five Alexander Dennis Enviro200AV buses cover a 14-mile route, in mixed traffic, at up to 50mph across the bridge.

The Scottish Transport Awards bring the transport community together to recognise and celebrate industry achievements across Scotland.

Jacqueline Rowan, Stagecoach's Head of Marketing for Scotland, was delighted to see the firm nominated for a total of 10 awards for initiatives across the country.

"Stagecoach's commitment to continued innovation that supports local communities is at the heart of everything we strive for, so to be shortlisted in so many categories is fantastic," she said. "We look forward to seeing the outcome of the awards in June and celebrating amongst industry peers.”
