A DUNFERMLINE-based chef has been nominated by public vote for Chef of the Year at the Scottish Curry Awards.

Dhaneshwar Prasad, owner and chef of Dhoom- Indian Streatery on New Row, is a finalist in the category which recognises the best the industry has to offer.

Chef Prasad is honoured by the recognition, he told the Press: "We are well known all over Scotland and for the hard work I have done I think this is good recognition for me.

"With all the hard work, thought and love I put into the food, this is the recognition for the person behind it so I think that's one of the best things for me, that I’m getting personal recognition.

"Hopefully I will bring this award to Dunfermline."

The winner of the award will be revealed at a ceremony at the Doubletree by Hilton in Glasgow on Monday, April 15.

In the meantime, Prasad will be focusing on the launch of his new menu which will be plated up at the end of the month.
