A DROP-in session to allow Inverkeithing resident to have their say on future plans for the town will take place next week.

The meeting, which will take place on Tuesday, is part of ongoing consultation to develop a Local Place Plan for the town.

Members of the local community are invited to give their views on what they think should be done with specific sites in the area with the aim that they can be incorporated into the new Fife-wide Local Development Plan.

"Feedback has been very encouraging so far, with lots of constructive comments on how people in Inverkeithing want to see their town develop," he said.

"It's no great surprise, but it's very clear from the responses so far that residents want to retain sports and community provision at the existing High School site.

"It's also clear that residents want to see something done with derelict sites like the old primary school or the former papermill site.

"On future housing needs, it's evident there's a need for social housing especially, but any housing needs to be in the right place and come with improvements in infrastructure."
