A month-long series of events and activities will be taking place to boost health and wellbeing across Fife.

OnFife’s Ways to Wellbeing Festival has something to offer people of all ages and abilities. The festival takes place at OnFife locations across the Kingdom, with all events free bar one.

Heather Korabiowska, OnFife wellbeing coordinator, said: “Our varied programme has something to suit everyone, no matter their age or ability – it’s the perfect opportunity for people to boost their wellbeing this spring.”

Carolyn Higgins, a Dunfermline artist, will be leading a drop-in session, which will focus on composition and how to create pictures emphasising light and dark. It will take place in Gallery 3 of the Brushstrokes exhibition at Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries on Thursday, May 23.

There are also Crafternoons at Rosyth Library on Thursdays, May 2, 16, and 30. Crafters can bring along anything they are working on and ask for advice and share their expertise with others.

Duloch Library will also be offering the chance for people to try out their Magic Table where they can play interactive games that are designed for those living with dementia. These games encourage interaction and active play but are also fun and relaxing.

This session takes place on Friday, May 31 and booking is essential.

Craig Gilbert, a mindfulness practitioner, will also lead a dementia-friendly session at Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries on Friday, 24 May. This is linked to the Brushstrokes exhibition.

Craig will guide participants through the basics of mindful meditation and explain how looking at art is a great way to reflect and to take time for yourself.

The session will take place from 10.30am to noon. It is also free, but booking is required.

There will also be Walk On sessions for book lovers at various locations including Duloch, Rosyth, Dalgety Bay, and Oakley. The sessions will start with a short-guided walk, followed by a chat about books over tea.

OnFife libraries are also hosting events linked to Bookbug Week for youngsters, which this year celebrates all the languages that are spoken in Scotland.

Activities based on the theme of Bookbug Says Hello! take place at libraries across the Kingdom from 13 to 19 May. Events are aimed at families with children aged 0 to 4 years old. Booking is also essential for these sessions.

Kids’ Dens Lego Club will also be meeting at Benarty, Carnegie, and Duloch Libraries during May. This will give over-5s a chance to have fun as they create and construct.

Lego sessions are £2, and children under eight-years-old must be accompanied by an adult.
