Panto legend and soap star Gayle Telfer Stevens has been announced as the latest addition to the cast for the Alhambra's brand new pantomime for 2024, Jack and the Beanstalk.

Gayle, who is perhaps best known for her role as ‘Caitlin McLean’ in River City, has enjoyed a varied career on stage and screen with film and TV credits including Sunshine on Leith, Doctor Who, Waterloo Road and Gary Tank Commander.

She is a graduate of Uta Hagen’s Technique in Acting & Teaching at HB Studio, New York, and Mountview Academy of Performing Arts in London, and kicked off her career in London’s West End. She performed in the Jerry Springer musical and won an Olivier in 2004 for Best Supporting Role in a Musical.

Dunfermline Press:

Gayle recently continued her success on stage as one half of the comedy duo, The Dolls, centred around two cleaners named Agnes and Sadie, with mouths like sewers and hearts of gold! The Dolls broke box office records on its recent Scottish tour which included a sold-out stop at the Alhambra.

Its not the first time that Gayle has joined the cast of Fife’s biggest panto - she played Fairy Fyfa in Mother McGoose back in 2016, and Dame Trott in the 2013 production of Jack and the Beanstalk.

Jack and the Beanstalk runs from December 6 to 28 at Dunfermline's Alhambra Theatre and promises to be another star-packed show, with Gayle joining Ian ‘Sheepie’ Smith for the ever-popular pantomime.

Some dates are selling out already, with tickets available through the Alhambra Theatre website.
