Pets over the festive period

I don't want my pet dog Oscar to feel left out over the festive period. What treats can I safely give him?
We all over indulge ourselves over the festive period. We do also notice that pets also put on weight over the winter as it's more difficult to go for walks and I'm sure Oscar is more reluctant to venture out too. The floor is often littered with presents and sweets, be careful to pick them up so that Oscar doesn't eat anything he shouldn't. The big one to avoid is chocolate as it can be poisonous to dogs, but just about any sweet will cause an upset tummy.
He can definitely have some cooked turkey and also a small amount of sausage meat too. It might do you both good to get a breath of fresh air too and he's sure to love that, though watch out if it's icy.
Hope you have a great Christmas and New Year

The "Dimfermline Press" should most 'DEFINATELY' buy a spell-checker with some of its Christmas money!
