ENJOYING La Dolce Vita will be Dalgety Bay couple Peter and June Locke, who have won a holiday in Rome in September, thanks to the Press and Dunfermline restaurant Ciao Italia.

The 63-year-olds had honeymooned in Venice, but have never visited the Eternal City and will now be taking in sights such as the Vatican, St Peter’s Square and the Spanish Steps, thanks to our competition.

They collected the three vouchers printed in the Press in April and May and enjoyed a meal in Ciao Italia to bag a three-night holiday in the Italian capital, staying bed and breakfast in a three-star hotel and including flights.

“That’s great news, unbelievable!” said a shocked Peter when we called on Tuesday to break the news. “Thank you very, very much.”

Sales rep Peter had endured a tough day on the road in his job as a rep selling CDs and DVDs for a music wholesaler, but all thoughts of targets were soon banished by the welcome glass of Prosecco served by by the team at Ciao Italia to celebrate.

“My wife especially has always wanted to go to Rome,” Peter said. “I never really thought we’d win. When we did go to the restaurant, a lot of people were asking for receipts and I said: ‘I bet they are doing the Press competition as well’. But we had a great meal anyway, the food was excellent.”

Finishing second and winning a meal for four at Ciao Italia was Lynne Firth, of Quarrybrae, Woodmill Road, Dunfermline; while Roger Muirden, of Davenport Place, Rosyth, won a meal for two. Consolation prizes, of a £10 voucher to spend at Ciao Italia, went to Avril Muir, of Braemar Drive, and Sarah Robertson, of Kingseat Road, both Dunfermline; and Jacqueline Muirden, of Davenport Place, Rosyth.
