NINETIES pop sensations Atomic Kitten and S Club are heading to West Fife after they were announced as the latest names confirmed for the PKD Festival.

The groups will join a growing list of acts for the popular Dalgety Bay festival which already included boy band A1 and B*Witched.

Organiser Mark Bennett was delighted to tell the Press about the latest additions to the line-up.

“When we first started, Big Country were our first big name,” he said.

“The whole idea was to make it bigger and make it better every year.

“We have the Rewind Festival doing the 80s and T in the Park and Party in the Park doing current music but no-one’s doing the 90s and they are just as good if not even better than some of the 80s ones.”

After getting B*Witched to take part initially through a Twitter message, they were pleased to have S Club back at the popular festival.

“The boys from A1 have reformed quite recently and they have the same management company as B*Witched,” said Mark.

“They asked if we would be interested in bringing them in and we said, yes, we will have some of that and the response has been nuts.

“We then thought what can be done to turn this into something people are going to remember forever and we were offered the chance of Atomic Kitten.

"It doesn’t matter if you are born in the 70s, 80s, 90s or noughties, everyone knows who Atomic Kitten are.

“We were offered the chance and thought, let’s go for it, and they have just confirmed. It will be the original three girls.”

The Atomic Kitten line-up will consist of original members Kerry Katona, Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton, who originally formed in 1998, while S Club will be made up of three of the original seven members, Tina, Brad and Jo, and the S Club dancers.

Mark is confident the latest additions will being music-lovers flocking to West Fife.

“It is a massive boost for the area,” he added. “It is a massive festival for the area – there isn’t another festival on the east coast.”

Next year’s festival is due to take place on Saturday, July 15, and tickets can be bought from eventbrite.co.uk/e/pkd-festival-tickets-29815712599 or from the tickets hotline on 01383 824415 where corporate box tickets are also available.
