Organised by Cycling Dalgety Bay, the third running of the free event took place at Dalgety Bay Sailing Club and was hailed as its “best year”, with kids and adults alike enjoying a wide range of activities from bike rides, a treasure hunt, timber trail and stalls.

A wheely welcome addition to the programme was a display from Kirkcaldy-based human energy company PeachyKeen of their ‘bike pod’ and festival chairman Neil Drummond said, “It was a great day and is probably the best year that we’ve had in terms of the turnout and people we had. The layout worked – all the stalls and groups were busy and we had 85 kids taking part in the timber trail, which is the most that we’ve had. Two rides went out with the ladies’ cycle group and stalls with the police and Sustrans were really popular.

“It was good to see so many families coming down as we are aiming to get youngsters involved. We’ve had a lot of nice comments on social media and people saying to us that we’re established on the Dalgety Bay calendar, which is really nice to hear. I think people are accepting of us but we had great support from people like Sandy Wallace Cycles too. It went really well.”
